About us

Museum "Grand Maket Rossiya" was opened on June 8, 2012. The creator of the project is Sergey Morozov.

The exposition of the museum is the largest model of Russia in the world with an area of 800 square meters, which is an artistic embodiment of the image of the country: from its Far Eastern borders to the "amber" coast of the Baltic Sea. Dozens of various specialists have been working on its creation around the clock for five years. On the model surface, collective images of various cities and regions are conveyed, and in genre scenes virtually all types of human activity are displayed.

The dynamics of the composition is added by the railway and car traffic, various scenes with moving objects and figures are controlled by the audience. More than 200 trains pass along ingenious routes with a total length of almost two and a half thousand meters, and turn the model into a solid living organism. And the car system, using the electromagnetic induction for the first time in the world in model building, as a power source for cars, will not leave any visitor indifferent. Dozens of various cars will surprise you with the complexity and originality of their movement, while the headlights, brake lights and turning lights add brightness to the model and illuminate the roads at night!

Every fifteen minutes, from east to west, night falls over the model, to simulate which almost 800,000 LEDs are involved. The sea of lights makes the experience of the visitor really unforgettable!

The museum complex has a well-thought-out infrastructure: parking, a comfortable wardrobe area, a cafe, clean toilets. There are parking places, a lifting platform, a specially equipped toilet for people with disabilities. As well as special steps for young visitors, all the amenities in the sanitary room and in the cafe, a mother and child room, parking for strollers.

The museum has many grateful visitors from all over the world. The language of people can be different, but human emotions are the same, facial expressions speak about one thing - delight, surprise. There is a mute question in the eyes: "How is it ALL done?". The museum is informative, exciting, safe and comfortable for everybody.

Come to the museum and trust us - we can surprise you!

I’m so glad I came here. The model of Russia is incredible. All the little details are well thought out. A lot of time and effort has been put into this and it is well worth the entrance fee!

The display is split into two huge sections (west and east Russia) in one enormous room, divided by the central passageway (marks the Europe-Asia border). Hundreds of moving trains, cars, planes, working plants, mines, oil platforms, ski and sea resorts,....you name it, it's there.

I'm a big model enthusiast and visited several such displays throughout Europe.
Until now, I regarded the Hamburg one being the best, but now, honestly the St. Pet's doesn't have a match - in one word it's amazing.
